The Jersey Defensive Driving Online Course is convenient and available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The course costs $49 and takes approximately 6 hours to complete.  Payment is made using a major credit card.  Any computer with an internet connection can be used and you can start and stop as often as you like, your place will automatically be bookmarked and saved.  Upon completion, Jersey Defensive Driving will mail you a certificate of completion to give to your insurance company for premium discounts and will automatically send your information to the motor vehicle agency for point reductions.  Please allow up to 10 days for your certificate of competion to arrive.

 

To begin the course you must first register and create an account.  Click on the New Student button and then choose the state your vehicle is registered in either NJ or NY.  Follow the on screen instructions to enter your drivers license and address information and to create a User Name and Password  The name and address you enter will be used to send your certificate of completion.  You can start the course immediately after registering however you must pay via credit card prior to completing the course.  You can log on and off as often as you like by clicking on the Returning Student button and entering your Username and Password.  You will automatically be returned to where you left off.  Help is available by phone, email and chat.

 

NJ and NY motorists who are registered as the "primary" driver of the vehicle are eligible to receive insurance premium discounts. Check with your insurance carrier to see how much you can save.  You can take the course once every 3 years to maintain your premium discount and once every 5 years to reduce points.
